Miscellaneous Activities
Blue
Santa & Shop with a Cop
In addition to the third annual “Shop with a Cop” program
implemented by the Tomball Police Officers Association, the
department implemented a holiday “Blue Santa” program. In
this program, Blue Santa, with the help of CPA alumni
members went out to pay visits to a segment of our citizenry
who are often left behind during the holiday season:
residents of retirement and assisted living centers and
in-patients of Tomball Regional Hospital. Santa and his
helpers strive to bring a little happiness and joy to less
fortunate citizens during the holiday season.
Story Time with Tomball Police Department
In an effort to bring Patrol street officers into
interaction with Tomball youngsters and to promote literacy,
a no-cost program was proposed to public and private
elementary schools wherein a day shift patrol officer spends
20 to 30 minutes one day a month reading a book to
elementary age children. The school librarian assists in
this effort by selecting reading materials from the school
library.
Salute To Law Enforcement
Every year the Tomball Police Department participates in
the “Salute to Law Enforcement” event which is held for law
enforcement agencies working together to support the
strengths of our communities. Each year this event brings
together approximately 100 agencies, over 200 officers and
more then 140 exhibits. Tomball Police Department’s
participation in this event allows us to showcase our
officers, equipment, departmental services, and display a
unified law enforcement effort and event for the citizens
and the community we serve.
